6920 - Kenia - Senior Infrastructure Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer with strong hands-on experience across Linux, Windows, networking, databases, virtualization, automation, and cloud/SaaS environments. This role requires someone who can troubleshoot complex infrastructure and application issues, lead technical initiatives, and collaborate closely with Engineering teams.

Schedule: Candidates must be available between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM CST, considering schedule adjustments related to Daylight Saving Time.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a similar infrastructure-focused role.
  
• Advanced hands-on knowledge of:
  • Linux Server Administration
    
  • Windows Server Administration
    
  • Networking
    
  • Databases
    
• Strong experience troubleshooting infrastructure and application issues involving network connectivity, authentication, SSL, and application debugging.
  
• Hands-on experience with Ansible, Puppet, and/or Chef.
  
• Strong scripting and infrastructure automation skills.
  
• Experience supporting cloud infrastructure and SaaS environments.
  
• Experience with VMware or equivalent virtualization technologies.
  
• Experience leading technical projects and collaborating with Engineering teams.
  
• Hands-on participation in Disaster Recovery planning, testing, maintenance, and execution.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Docker and container platforms.
  
• Experience in Managed Service Provider (MSP) or Managed Services environments.
  
• Experience with capacity planning.
  
• Knowledge of SOC 2 or similar compliance frameworks.
  
• Team leadership and mentoring experience.
  
• Hands-on Project Management experience.
  
• Certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, MCSA/MCSE, CCNA, or CCNA Security.
  

Ideal Profile: We are looking for an infrastructure-focused engineer with deep expertise across Linux, Windows, Networking, and Databases. Candidates with strong experience in automation (Ansible/Puppet/Chef), VMware, and SaaS/cloud infrastructure will be prioritized over profiles primarily focused on a specific cloud platform such as Azure.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize Linux and Windows Server environments.
  
• Diagnose complex infrastructure and application issues across the full technology stack, including network connectivity, authentication, SSL, databases, and application-level troubleshooting/debugging.
  
• Support and maintain networking, database, virtualization, cloud, and SaaS infrastructure.
  
• Develop and maintain infrastructure automation using scripting and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, and/or Chef.
  
• Manage and troubleshoot VMware or equivalent virtualization platforms.
  
• Partner with Software Engineering and other technical teams to improve infrastructure reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  
• Lead and participate in technical infrastructure projects from planning through implementation.
  
• Participate in Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, testing, maintenance, and execution.
  
• Contribute to capacity planning, infrastructure documentation, operational standards, and continuous improvement.
  
• Support security and compliance initiatives, including SOC 2 or similar frameworks, when applicable.
  
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other team members.
