Junior JavaScript Developer

We are looking for a Junior JavaScript Developer to support our technical work for a Dutch legal and regulatory advisory group. Gulf Associates provides commercial advice to senior leaders on complex investment decisions and joint ventures. In this role, you will help us build the digital tools and dashboards that translate raw market data into useful positions for our clients. This is a permanent, full-time role that is fully remote, allowing you to contribute to high-level advisory projects from anywhere.

What you will do

• Writing and maintaining clean JavaScript code to support our internal market analysis tools.
• Collaborating with commercial analysts to build data visualizations that help partners understand counterparty behaviors.
• Developing scripts to automate the collection of data from regulatory sources relevant to our work with a Dutch legal group.
• Testing new features in our internal platforms to ensure they provide accurate information for client negotiations.
• Assisting in the creation of lightweight web interfaces that senior decision-makers use to review investment scenarios.
• Maintaining technical documentation to help non-technical team members use our data tools effectively.
• Participating in remote code reviews to ensure all work meets our standards for clarity and functionality.
• Troubleshooting issues in existing codebases to maintain the reliability of our decision-support systems.

What you bring

• Basic proficiency in modern JavaScript and an interest in learning how it applies to commercial advisory work.
• Familiarity with HTML and CSS to create simple, functional user interfaces for our internal teams.
• A logical approach to problem-solving and an interest in the ground reality of how deals are structured.
• Strong communication skills in a remote setting: you are comfortable explaining technical updates via text or video.
• Disciplined organization and the ability to manage your own tasks without constant supervision.
• A keen eye for detail, particularly when it comes to the accuracy of data presented in a dashboard or tool.
• Curiosity about the market and the territory, focusing on how technical tools can support commercial judgment.
• Willingness to adapt to the specific technical requirements of our engagement with a Dutch legal and regulatory advisory group.
