Electrowinning Operator

Job Description

Job Purpose:

To operate the electrowinning cells and harvest cathode product safely and to specification.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate electrowinning cells per SOPs, monitoring current, voltage and cell conditions
  
• Strip and harvest cathodes on schedule; prepare product for weighing, stacking and dispatch
  
• Monitor and maintain anode/cathode condition, replacing as required
  
• Monitor electrolyte quality and report deviations
  
• Maintain safe working practices around electrical and acid hazards
  
• Keep accurate production and quality records
  

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Secondary education; basic plant operations training
  

Experience:

Essential:

• 2+ years' experience in an electrowinning, electrorefining or similar electrochemical process environment
  
• Prior antimony-specific experience is not required - equivalent experience in copper or other base-metal hydrometallurgical operations is acceptable.
