leaching & Electrowinning Metallurgist

Job Description

Job Purpose:

To provide metallurgical oversight of the leaching and electrowinning circuit, optimising recovery, product quality and process performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and optimise leach and electrowinning process performance (recovery, current efficiency, reagent consumption)
  
• Conduct metallurgical accounting and mass balance for the circuit
  
• Investigate and resolve process performance issues in conjunction with Production and Maintenance
  
• Support test work and process improvement initiatives
  
• Ensure the quality control sampling and analysis programme is followed
  
• Provide technical training and support to shift teams
  
• Report metallurgical performance to the Technical and Quality Superintendent
  

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or related field
  

Experience:

Essential:

• 5+ years' experience in a hydrometallurgical (leach/solvent extraction-electrowinning) processing environment
  
• Prior antimony-specific experience is not required - equivalent experience in copper or other base-metal hydrometallurgical operations is acceptable.
  

Desirable:

• Experience with metallurgical accounting or mass balance software
