For many older people, friendship becomes harder to find as the years go by. A warm and gentle woman living in a retirement village in Bayview would love the company of someone to share life's simple moments with. She enjoys a cup of tea and a good chat, gentle walks around the village, and following her favourite NRL teams on television.

A familiar face, a listening ear, and shared conversation can mean more than words can say. The kindness of regular visits can bring comfort, connection, and something special to look forward to.

Just one hour each week or fortnight could help turn an ordinary day into a brighter one, over a cuppa, a stroll, and the beginning of a meaningful friendship.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

18 years or older • National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare •

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week-

Monday to Sunday

Flexible times: anywhere between 9am and 5pm

30 minutes to 1 hour per visit
