CNC Machinist – Horizontal Boring Mill

Job Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Horizontal Boring Mills to machine large and complex components.
  
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and machining specifications.
  
• Set up workpieces, fixtures, tooling, and cutting parameters according to job requirements.
  
• Perform machine offsets, tool changes, and adjustments to maintain accuracy.
  
• Machine parts to required dimensions, tolerances, and surface finishes.
  
• Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges.
  
• Inspect finished components and make necessary machining adjustments.
  
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup issues.
  
• Perform routine machine maintenance and keep the work area organized.
  
• Follow all company quality and workplace safety procedures.
  

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience, preferably operating Horizontal Boring Mills.
  
• Strong experience with large-part or precision machining is preferred.
  
• Ability to independently set up and operate CNC machinery.
  
• Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and machining processes.
  
• Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and GD&T.
  
• Experience using precision measuring and inspection tools.
  
• CNC programming or program-editing experience is an asset.
  
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight tolerances.
  
• Must have CSA-approved safety boots.
