Software Engineer III

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Software Engineer III to join our engineering team in Crane, IN. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance software architectures supporting critical Department of Defense (DoD) mission systems. You will bridge legacy system modernization with cutting-edge real-time operational environments, ensuring high reliability, strict cybersecurity compliance, and seamless hardware-software integration.

Requirements

Required Qualifications • Security Clearance: U.S. Citizenship with an active DoD Secret security clearance (or higher) and eligibility for TS/SCI. • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a highly related technical discipline. • Experience: Minimum of 5 to 8 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably within the defense, aerospace, or federal sectors. • Core Languages: Strong proficiency in C++, Java, or C# alongside scripting proficiency in Python or Bash. • Environment & Tools: Practical experience working in Linux/Unix environments, using Git version control, and debugging complex software systems

Preferred Qualifications • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) or embedded software development (VxWorks, FreeRTOS). • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI). • Understanding of tactical data links, military communication protocols, or electronic warfare (EW) framework principles. • Active CompTIA Security+ certification matching DoD 8570 baseline compliance

Must be able to obtain or have secret or top secret clearance.
