Software Tester (Technology Company)

About the Company: Our client is a startup technology company providing software integration, software development, and technology consulting services to major financial institutions in Nigeria.

The Company is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Software Tester to ensure the quality, reliability, and functionality of its software applications.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in software testing, a strong understanding of testing methodologies, and the ability to identify, document, and track defects effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test scripts based on business and technical requirements.

Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing.

Identify, document, and track software defects through to resolution.

Collaborate with Business Analysts, Developers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and testing needs.

Validate software functionality, usability, reliability, and performance against defined requirements.

Participate in the review of business and technical requirements to identify potential quality issues early in the development lifecycle.

Re-test resolved defects and conduct regression testing to ensure fixes do not introduce new issues.

Maintain accurate test documentation, test results, and defect reports.

Support testing activities throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes, standards, and methodologies.

Provide clear and timely feedback on testing outcomes, risks, and identified issues.

Requirements

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

4+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance, preferably in a financial services, fintech, banking, payments, or related technology environment.

Strong understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and SDLC processes.

Hands-on experience with functional, regression, integration, and system testing.

Ability to create detailed test cases, test scenarios, and test reports.

Experience using defect tracking and test management tools.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

Good understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Added Advantages

Experience in Quality Assurance (QA) processes and practices.

Knowledge or hands-on experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.

Experience with performance, load, or stress testing.

Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman or similar platforms.

Basic knowledge of SQL/database testing.

Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.

Relevant professional certifications such as ISTQB.

Benefits

Compensation: N500,000 – N700,000 monthly net (depending on experience and competency level) + other benefits
