Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Optician to join our Health Care team, where you will play a vital role in ensuring patients receive precise vision correction and high-quality eyewear. This position is central to our commitment to patient well-being, requiring a professional who can expertly interpret prescriptions, fit frames, and provide personalized counseling on visual health. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between clinical eye care and customer satisfaction, delivering exceptional service while maintaining the highest standards of optical accuracy and safety within a dynamic healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and verify eyeglass and contact lens prescriptions to ensure accuracy and compliance with safety standards.
- Select, fit, and adjust frames to match patient facial features, comfort needs, and lifestyle requirements.
- Operate advanced optical equipment to measure pupillary distance, segment heights, and other critical parameters for lens fabrication.
- Educate patients on proper lens care, maintenance, and the benefits of various lens coatings and materials.
- Collaborate closely with optometrists and ophthalmologists to facilitate seamless patient care and address complex visual needs.
- Manage inventory of optical supplies, frames, and lenses, ensuring stock levels are maintained and orders are processed efficiently.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards.
Requirements
Requirements:- Proven experience as an Optician or in a related optical role within the healthcare sector.
- Valid certification or licensure as an Optician, adhering to state or regional regulatory requirements.
- Strong proficiency with optical instruments, lens edging machines, and frame adjustment tools.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex optical concepts clearly to diverse patients.
- Deep understanding of optical materials, lens designs, and frame styles across various price points and brands.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to precision in all technical and customer-facing tasks.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical setting while prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
