Junior Lodge Manager – Balule Reserve, Mpumalanga

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a motivated and hands-on Junior Lodge Manager for a luxury safari lodge situated in the Balule Reserve. This opportunity is ideal for a hospitality professional looking to develop their management career within the luxury safari industry. The successful candidate will assist with the daily running of the lodge, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, smooth operations and consistently high service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the day-to-day management and overall operations of the lodge.
  

• Ensure guests receive personalised service and an exceptional luxury safari experience.
  

• Support the management team in supervising, training and motivating lodge staff.
  

• Oversee front-of-house operations, including guest arrivals, departures and special requests.
  

• Assist with coordinating housekeeping, food and beverage service and general lodge activities.
  

• Conduct regular checks to ensure that guest areas, rooms and facilities are maintained to the required standards.
  

• Handle guest queries, feedback and complaints professionally and efficiently.
  

• Assist with staff scheduling, daily briefings and operational planning.
  

• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory control and cost management.
  

• Ensure that health, safety, hygiene and operational procedures are followed.
  

• Work closely with the guiding team and other departments to ensure seamless daily operations.
  

• Support the Lodge Manager with administrative duties, reporting and general operational responsibilities.
  

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a supervisory or junior management role within a luxury lodge, safari camp or high-end hospitality establishment.
  

• A relevant hospitality qualification would be advantageous.
  

• A strong understanding of lodge operations, guest relations and service standards.
  

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  

• Strong leadership potential, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
  

• A hands-on approach and willingness to assist across different operational departments.
  

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  

• The ability to work under pressure and manage changing priorities.
  

• A professional, guest-focused attitude and a passion for the luxury safari industry.
  

• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
  

Salary: R10,000 – R15,000 per month, depending on experience.

Location: Balule Reserve, Mpumalanga.
