Turn a Shared Love of Books and Conversation into Connection - Social Visits

Volunteer Visitor Opportunity – Fairlight

Do you enjoy meaningful conversations, sharing ideas, and connecting with others?

An older lady living independently in Fairlight would love to welcome a volunteer visitor who enjoys reading books, discussing current events, and talking politics.

This is a great opportunity for someone who appreciates thoughtful conversation and would like to make a genuine difference through friendship and companionship.

What you'll do:

• Enjoy relaxed chats and social connection
• Discuss books, news, current affairs, and politics
• Build a meaningful one-on-one friendship
• Visit for one hour at a time
• Choose any day of the week between 9:00am and 5:00pm
• Volunteer weekly or fortnightly

A simple visit can brighten someone's day, reduce social isolation, and create a rewarding connection for both volunteer and resident.

If you enjoy engaging conversation and building meaningful community connections, this could be the perfect volunteer role for you.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help older people feel less isolated. Your visits will bring great joy to the client you are matched with.
