Housing Specialist I

The Housing Specialist I is responsible for conducting initial and continued eligibility as well as routine transaction processing for subsidized housing programs.

This role requires a foundational understanding of subsidized housing programs and effective communication skills to ensure accurate and timely assistance.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

• Assist clients with the application process for subsidized housing programs (HCV, PH, LIHTC, etc.)
  
• Review and verify documentation to determine eligibility.
  
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions and case files.
  
• Provide information and support to clients regarding program requirements and processes.
  
• Conduct client interviews to gather necessary information.
  
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
  

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
  
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  

Experience

• Must complete specialist certification course within 60 days of hire. (HCV, Public Housing, LIHTC, etc.)
  
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in subsidized programs eligibility required.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
  
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  

Travel Requirement:

Travel required as projects entail.
