Maintenance Assistant

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Assistant for a luxury safari lodge in Sabi Sands, Mpumalanga.

The successful candidate will assist with the general maintenance and upkeep of the lodge, ensuring that all facilities, equipment and guest areas are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with general maintenance and repairs throughout the lodge.
  

• Conduct routine inspections of facilities and equipment.
  

• Assist with basic plumbing, electrical and carpentry tasks.
  

• Maintain guest rooms, staff areas and public spaces.
  

• Identify maintenance issues and report them to the relevant supervisor.
  

• Ensure tools and equipment are stored safely and maintained properly.
  

• Assist with preventative maintenance to minimise breakdowns.
  

• Follow health and safety procedures at all times.
  

Requirements:

• Previous maintenance experience, preferably within a lodge, hotel or hospitality environment.
  

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical work and general repairs.
  

• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  

• A practical, hands-on approach with a willingness to learn.
  

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  

• Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
  

• Flexibility to work in a remote lodge environment.
  

Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience.
Location: Sabi Sands, Mpumalanga.
