Pastry Chef – Luxury Private Game Reserve – KNP, Mpumalanga

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join a luxury private game reserve in the Kruger National Park, Mpumalanga.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative pastry professional who takes pride in producing exceptional desserts, pastries and baked goods while contributing to a high-end guest experience in a unique safari environment.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing and producing a variety of high-quality pastries, desserts, breads and baked goods
  

• Ensuring all pastry products are consistently presented to a luxury standard
  

• Assisting with menu planning and developing creative pastry offerings
  

• Preparing desserts and baked goods for daily guest meals and special occasions
  

• Ensuring all mise en place is completed efficiently and to a high standard
  

• Maintaining excellent food quality, portion control and presentation
  

• Managing pastry stock and assisting with ordering when required
  

• Minimising wastage and ensuring effective use of ingredients
  

• Maintaining high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and food safety
  

• Working closely with the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth service
  

• Assisting with special guest requests and dietary requirements where necessary
  

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Pastry Chef, preferably within a luxury hospitality environment
  

• Relevant pastry or culinary qualification would be advantageous
  

• Strong knowledge of pastry techniques and production
  

• Excellent attention to detail and presentation
  

• Creative and passionate approach to pastry
  

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  

• Strong teamwork and communication skills
  

• Good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
  

• Professional appearance and approach
  

• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays
