Regional Cybersecurity Director

We are conducting a confidential search for a Regional Cybersecurity Director to lead cybersecurity strategy across a Southeast Asian regional footprint from a Kuala Lumpur base, working hybrid. Kuala Lumpur is an established regional hub for financial services and shared operations, and this is a director-level role for a security leader who can operate across Bank Negara Malaysia's regulatory regime and a distributed regional SOC.

In this role, you will own the regional cybersecurity strategy spanning threat detection, incident response, and security architecture across multiple country entities, and lead the organisation's compliance programme under Bank Negara Malaysia's Risk Management in Technology (RMiT) framework. You will direct regional SOC operations and incident response coordination, manage relationships with national CERTs and regulators across the region, and oversee third-party and supply chain risk assessment for regional vendors.

You will build and lead a distributed team of security engineers and analysts, drive adoption of zero-trust architecture and cloud security controls across regional infrastructure, and report risk posture and incident trends to the executive committee and audit committee. You will also lead regulatory engagement on RMiT compliance and coordinate cross-border incident response across the region.

Nice to Have:

• Direct experience with Bank Negara Malaysia RMiT compliance
• Background coordinating incident response across multiple Southeast Asian jurisdictions
• Experience operating or overseeing a regional SOC
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, or equivalent)
• Experience securing a multinational, multi-entity corporate structure
