Freight Forwarding Manager

The responsibility of this position is to organize export /import/ forwarding operations and support logistics requests from customers.

The Ocean Freight manager is responsible as well for planning, managing and evaluating the performance of the Operations Department and its resources.

Our client, a well-established freight forwarding and logistics company in Jordan- Amman , is seeking an experienced Freight Forwarding Manager reporting to the General Manager.

Job Purpose:

The Freight Forwarding Manager organizes export, import and forwarding operations, supports customers' logistics requests, and plans, manages and evaluates the performance of the Operations Department and its resources.

Key Accountabilities:

• Handle all import and export shipments, including FCL and LCL.
  
• Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  
• Negotiate rates and contracts with shipping partners and vendors.
  
• Maintain relationships with carriers and vendors.
  
• Ensure customer satisfaction rates grow positively.
  
• Handle customer and supplier claims until closed, locally and with the network.
  
• Resolve operational issues with related parties quickly to keep customers satisfied.
  
• Monitor ocean and land freight production figures.
  
• Lead the operations team to achieve set KPIs and targets.
  
• Audit the team's work, monitor performance and give constructive feedback.
  
• Manage team conflicts and ensure the flow of tasks complies with policies and procedures.
  
• Develop performance reports for management.
  
• Ensure smooth operations and resolve any discrepancies.
  
• Provide on-the-job training for the team.
  
• Adhere to and apply SOPs.
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree, ideally in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or equivalent.
  
• 10+ years of ocean and land freight experience with strong shipper relationships across diversified industries.
  
• At least 6 years of managerial experience.
  
• Solid knowledge of ocean freight, both import and export.
