Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow engineering teams
  

• Drive hiring, onboarding, performance evaluation, and career development initiatives
  

• Conduct regular 1-on-1s and support engineers' professional growth
  

• Improve engineering processes, development workflows, and team productivity
  

• Promote Agile and Scrum best practices across engineering teams
  

• Partner closely with Product Managers, Designers, and Business Leaders
  

• Manage technical debt, quality improvement initiatives, and engineering standards
  

• Collaborate with executive leadership on organizational planning and resource allocation
  

• Build a healthy engineering culture focused on ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  

Requirements

Requirements

• Professional software development experience with the ability to participate in technical discussions, architecture reviews, and code reviews
  

• Experience managing engineering teams of 5+ members
  

• Experience in hiring, performance evaluation, coaching, and talent development
  

• Business-level Japanese communication skills (JLPT N1 or equivalent required)
  

• Strong stakeholder management and leadership skills
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in startup or high-growth environments
  

• Experience designing hiring frameworks and performance evaluation systems
  

• Experience introducing or improving Agile development practices
  

• Experience managing multicultural or distributed engineering teams
  

• Experience working with AI, SaaS, or technology-driven products
  

Working Environment

• International environment with both Japanese and global team members
  

• English is welcomed, but not required
  

• Japanese communication is essential due to the high level of interaction with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams

Compensation

• ¥10M – ¥20M annual compensation package
