Most finance tools are difficult to use because the technical setup often ignores how a finance team actually works. At Alpine Business Consulting, we focus on remediation and precise configuration to ensure that data flows correctly and reports are readable. We are currently supporting a major French retail partner, helping them clean up their reporting systems and build tools that their team can actually rely on to make informed business decisions.

About the role
In this Junior CSS Developer position, you will bridge the gap between complex financial data and the user interface. You will be responsible for the visual layer of the EPM and analytics platforms we build for our clients. This is not about building flashy marketing sites: it is about ensuring that a controller in a high pressure environment can see exactly what they need at a glance. You will work within a fully remote team to deliver clean, maintainable code as part of our fixed price engagements, ensuring that every interface we deploy is functional and precise.

What you will do
  • Write clean and maintainable CSS to style financial reporting dashboards and data entry forms.
  • Fix broken UI elements in existing EPM systems where the original configuration failed to meet user needs.
  • Ensure that layout logic remains consistent across different browsers used by finance departments.
  • Collaborate with senior consultants to translate finance process requirements into functional interface styles.
  • Maintain the data dictionary and style documentation to ensure clients can manage their systems independently.
  • Update internal templates to improve the speed of future implementations and remediation projects.
  • Test new configuration changes in staging environments before they go live in production systems.
  • Help build out administrator training materials that cover interface management for our clients.
What we are looking for
  • A solid understanding of CSS fundamentals, including Flexbox and Grid layouts.
  • Familiarity with HTML structure and how it interacts with styling layers.
  • An interest in how finance teams operate, specifically the close process and reporting cycles.
  • Extreme precision when it comes to spacing, alignment, and data visualization.
  • Comfort working in a fully remote environment where clear, written communication is the default.
  • A practical mindset that favors simple, maintainable solutions over overly complex code.
  • Ability to follow technical documentation and contribute to it as systems evolve.
  • A willingness to learn the specifics of EPM platforms like Oracle or SAP.
Bonus points
  • Experience with CSS preprocessors like Sass or modern utility frameworks.
  • Exposure to data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Basic understanding of SQL or how data is pulled from a relational database.
  • Previous experience or coursework related to financial accounting or business processes.
What we offer
  • A fully remote working model that respects your time and focuses on output rather than hours spent at a desk.
  • Competitive pay that is attractive for an entry level role in the current market.
  • The chance to work on high stakes projects for major international partners, including a large French retail company.
  • Direct mentorship from senior consultants who have deep expertise in finance and technology.
  • A work environment free from implementation theatre and corporate jargon.
  • Fixed price projects that provide clear goals and reduce the stress of open ended billing.
  • A structured path to learn specialized enterprise tools like Oracle EPM and SAP BPC.
Our Finance-First approach means we never let the technology dictate the process. We start with the chart of accounts and the close process to ensure our clients have a solid foundation before we ever look at a line of code. By the end of a project, we want our clients to be entirely self sufficient. You will play a vital part in this by ensuring their systems are not only accurate but also intuitive, professional, and well documented.
