Cost Accountant

Responsibilities:

• Cost manufacturing work orders and track raw material, labor, inventory, and R&D spend
  
• Prepare monthly cost of sales, compare actual to standard costs, and explain variances
  
• Build and maintain standard cost data and keep FIFO inventory valuation accurate
  
• Help book the monthly cost of sales and scrap journal entries
  
• Support internal and external audits and handle ad hoc analysis requests
  

Requirements:

• BS with 5+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
  
• Experience with standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, BOMs, and month-end close
  
• Advanced Excel skills
  
• Great Plains and/or SAP experience is a plus
  
• Detail-oriented, and able to explain why the numbers moved, not only report them
