CLINICAL CODER

Responsibilities

1. Review medical records and assign accurate diagnosis and procedure codes.
   

2. Check documentation for completeness and clarify coding queries with clinical staff.
   

3. Follow applicable coding guidelines, payer requirements, and confidentiality policies.
   

4. Support coding audits, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate coding records.
   

Requirements

Requirements

1. Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Clinical Coding, or a related field.
   

2. Minimum 2 years of clinical coding experience, preferably in a hospital.
   

3. Knowledge of ICD-10 and applicable procedure coding systems, such as CPT or HCPCS, as required by the facility.
   

4. A recognized coding credential, such as CPC or CCS, is preferred.
   

5. Strong medical terminology, analytical, accuracy, and confidentiality skills.
