The Staff Pad is proud to partner with a leading healthcare organization in Breckenridge, TX and we are looking to hire a compassionate and dependable Unit Nurse Assistant to provide indirect patient care in the Medical-Surgical and Emergency Departments as needed.
Reporting to the Director of Med-Surg department, the Unit Nurse Assistant is responsible for assisting patients with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care, and helping maintain a safe and clean work environment under the supervision of the Licensed Vocational Nurse and Registered Nurse.
Schedule: PRN
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate workflow, respond to emergencies, and document details of patient encounters
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records and reports
- Record patient medical information and vital signs
- Monitor and report patient symptoms, condition changes, and responses to nursing staff
- Support infection control efforts and follow required precautions
- Follow directions from physicians and nursing staff
- Maintain professional and respectful communication with patients, families, visitors, physicians, and hospital staff
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and provide basic nursing care
- Perform treatments and services within scope of practice
- Take initiative and complete additional duties as assigned
- Maintain a safe and clean patient care environment under LVN and RN supervision
- Provide care according to established unit guidelines
- Demonstrate competency in required skills for each care setting
Additional Responsibilities
- Follow all hospital policies, procedures, Code of Ethics, and established business standards
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of patient and hospital information
- Promote the mission, vision, and values of the hospital
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements
- Foster a positive, welcoming, and supportive environment
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director, CNO, or CEO
What We Are Looking For
Education, Experience and Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6+ months of hospital or customer service experience preferred
- Relevant experience preferred; candidates with varying experience levels are welcome

- CNA certification preferred; on the job training accepted
- BLS certification required within 30 days of hire
Additional Skills and Attributes
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
- Ability to adapt to and implement change
- Strong service-oriented approach
- Fluent in spoken and written English; Spanish preferred
- Basic computer skills, including email and internet; Microsoft Office and ability to learn EMR systems
- Ability to regularly lift/move up to 30 lbs and occasionally up to 150 lbs
- Ability to manage difficult or emotional patient situations and work effectively in moderate to high-stress environments
