Consultant Liver Transplant Surgeon

Black Pearl Consult is hiring for an experienced Consultant Liver Transplant Surgeon in Dubai, UAE.

This opportunity is suited to a highly skilled surgeon with extensive experience in liver transplantation and complex hepatobiliary surgery, a strong commitment to patient safety, and the ability to contribute to multidisciplinary care and improved clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert surgical assessment and management of patients requiring liver transplantation and complex hepatobiliary surgery.
  
• Participate in the evaluation, selection, and preparation of suitable liver transplant candidates.
  
• Perform liver transplant procedures and complex hepatobiliary operations within the scope of approved privileges and clinical practice.
  
• Manage preoperative and postoperative care, including transplant-related complications and complex surgical cases.
  
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including hepatologists, anaesthesiologists, intensivists, radiologists, pathologists, and specialist nursing teams.
  
• Contribute to transplant programme development, clinical protocols, evidence-based guidelines, and care pathways.
  
• Maintain high standards of patient safety, clinical governance, documentation, and quality improvement.
  
• Participate in clinical audits, research, education, and professional development activities where appropriate.
  
• Support effective communication with patients and families throughout the treatment pathway.
  

Requirements

• Recognized postgraduate qualifications in General Surgery, Hepatobiliary Surgery, Transplant Surgery, or an equivalent relevant specialty pathway.
  
• Substantial Consultant-level experience in liver transplantation and complex hepatobiliary surgery.
  
• Demonstrable experience in the assessment and management of liver transplant patients, including preoperative and postoperative care.
  
• Experience managing complex liver disease and transplant-related complications.
  
• Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary transplant team.
  
• Strong clinical judgment, leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
  
• Commitment to patient safety, clinical governance, and evidence-based surgical practice.
  
• Eligibility for the relevant UAE healthcare professional licensing and credentialing requirements.
  

Candidates with experience in established liver transplant centres, transplant programme development, research, teaching, and clinical quality improvement will be particularly attractive.
