ECG Technician

Black Pearl Consult is looking for a qualified ECG Technician in Dubai, UAE. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented healthcare professional with experience performing electrocardiograms (ECGs), preparing patients for cardiac diagnostic procedures, and ensuring accurate recording and handling of cardiac test results.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise, excellent patient-care skills, and a commitment to clinical quality, patient safety, and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs) in accordance with established clinical protocols.
  
• Prepare patients for ECG procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and cooperation.
  
• Position ECG electrodes accurately and ensure optimal signal quality.
  
• Operate, clean, and maintain ECG machines and related diagnostic equipment.
  
• Recognize technical artefacts and repeat recordings when necessary to ensure accurate results.
  
• Identify and promptly escalate abnormal or concerning ECG findings to the appropriate clinician in accordance with facility protocols.
  
• Ensure ECG recordings are correctly labelled, documented, stored, and forwarded to the relevant healthcare professionals.
  
• Assist clinical teams with cardiac diagnostic procedures and related patient-care activities within the scope of practice.
  
• Follow infection prevention, equipment safety, and patient identification procedures.
  
• Maintain patient confidentiality and accurate clinical documentation.
  
• Support quality assurance activities and comply with facility policies and applicable healthcare regulations.
  

Requirements

Relevant qualification in ECG Technology, Cardiac Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or a related healthcare field.
Previous experience performing ECGs in a hospital, clinic, diagnostic centre, or similar healthcare setting.
Practical knowledge of 12-lead ECG recording, electrode placement, and ECG equipment operation.
Good understanding of patient preparation, infection control, and clinical safety procedures.
Ability to recognize recording abnormalities and escalate concerns appropriately, within the scope of training and practice.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
Excellent attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Eligibility for the relevant UAE healthcare professional licence, preferably DHA where applicable to the position.
