Responsibilities
- Ensure that the provision of a high standard of care to the residents and families in Name of Unit is consistent with the mission, vision, values, and strategic plan of the Nursing Home
- Develop relationships with residents, which facilitates resident autonomy, informed choice, and evidence-based decision-making
- Promote and maintain resident safety and provide quality care by respecting the privacy, dignity, and rights of the resident
- Assist residents in maintaining their sense of identity and include them in decision-making whenever possible
- Ensure the Nursing Home is operated in a manner that respects the age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, family status, civil status, race, religious beliefs and ethnic & cultural background of each resident
- Plan, assess and deliver resident care that maximises the resident’s capacity to exercise personal autonomy and choice, together with all members of the Multidisciplinary Care Team.
Requirements
- Eligible to register or currently registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Two to three years of minimum appropriate post-registration experience.
- Post-registration training in dementia care and/or gerontology is very desirable.
- Leadership, communication, organizational, and clinical expertise that may be demonstrated.
- Needed to be qualified to work in Ireland.
