SOLAR ENGINEER

REMOTE | Morning Shift

$12AUD/hour (Negotiable depending on exp)

 

We are seeking an initiative-taking and experienced Solar Engineer with strong Commercial skills to join our team. As a Solar Engineer, you will design, develop, and oversee photovoltaic (PV) and battery systems for residential, commercial, and utility-scale projects.

 

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

System Design:

·        Create Solar PV array layout.

·        AC, DC and communications cable path layouts

·        Single-line diagrams, schematics and blueprints using CAD software.

·        Battery systems: appropriate load to back-up.

 

Equipment Selection:

·        Select optimal solar panels, inverters, and storage batteries.

·        Select appropriately sized cable wiring,

·        Select appropriately sized switch gear and other electrical components.

 

Project Oversight:

·        Guide installation teams

·        Investigate system performance (Quality Assurance)

·        Ensure compliance installation is installed as per compliance.

·        Following up on quotes (not lead gen but discussing the scope of service in detail with the potential customer)

 

Candidates must have:

·        Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy Engineering.

·        Proficiency in AutoCAD OR Python, solar modeling software, and knowledge of local electrical codes.

·        Good communication skills

·        Proficiency in Word and Excel

·        Must be flexible and be able to work to tight deadlines.

·        Previous experience in a similar role is essential

·        The ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team.

·        Be flexible and progressive in thinking and be able to action thoughts.

·        Proficient skills in excel

·        Experience in BESS, smart grids

·        Experience in near maps is a PLUS

·        Background in PVSYST is a PLUS
