Nutanix Resident Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experiencedNutanix Resident Engineerbased in Jakarta, Indonesia, to support a large-scale enterprise infrastructure environment in Malaysia comprising 70+ Nutanix clusters.

The successful candidate will work closely with the client's existing operations team, providing hands-on Nutanix expertise, technical recommendations, and independent execution of Nutanix upgrades and VMware ESXi-to-AHV migrations.

This is an opportunity for an experienced infrastructure professional to take ownership of enterprise Nutanix operations and contribute to infrastructure modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support day-to-day operations of enterprise Nutanix clusters.

• Independently plan and execute Nutanix upgrades, including health checks, implementation, and post-upgrade validation.

• Independently perform VMware ESXi-to-AHV migrations, including planning, execution, troubleshooting, and workload validation.

• Provide technical recommendations and guidance on Nutanix upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure improvements.

• Collaborate with the client's existing operations team and infrastructure stakeholders.

• Troubleshoot complex Nutanix, virtualization, storage, and infrastructure issues.

• Perform root cause analysis and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, virtualization, or systems administration, with strong hands-on Nutanix experience.

• Proven experience independently managing Nutanix cluster operations in enterprise production environments.

• Demonstrable experience independently performing Nutanix upgrades and ESXi-to-AHV migrations.

• Strong technical knowledge of Nutanix Prism Central, Prism Element, AOS, AHV, CVM, and storage management.

• Solid understanding of VMware ESXi/vSphere and enterprise virtualization.

• Working knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems and networking fundamentals.

• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• Willingness and ability to relocate to Malaysia for the resident assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Nutanix Certified Professional (NCP) or higher.

• Experience with Nutanix Move, Veeam, HYCU, or other migration and data protection solutions.

• Scripting or automation experience using PowerShell or Bash.

• Previous experience in a Nutanix Resident Engineer, Senior Infrastructure Engineer, or customer-facing enterprise infrastructure role.
