Sales Account Manager – Managed Mobility Services
Location: King of Prussia, PA
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Base Salary: $70,000–$80,000
Commission: 5% on expanded and new-logo business
About the Opportunity
A growing technology and managed services organization is seeking an experienced Sales Account Manager to own, retain, and expand a portfolio of existing customer relationships. This position sits at the intersection of account management, customer success, consultative sales, and managed mobility solutions.
The successful candidate will inherit established customer relationships while taking an active role in increasing wallet share, identifying new business needs, re-engaging inactive customers, and expanding clients into a broader portfolio of technology and mobility services.
This is not a passive account-management or order-taking position. The ideal candidate is commercially minded, highly responsive, exceptionally organized, and comfortable turning an initial hardware or device request into a deeper conversation about the customer's operational needs.
The organization operates in Managed Mobility Services, supporting customers throughout the device lifecycle—from procurement and deployment through configuration, management, support, connectivity, and end-of-life solutions.
What You'll Do
Account Management & Customer Growth
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for an assigned portfolio of existing customers.
- Build trusted relationships across IT, operations, procurement, field teams, leadership, and other key stakeholders.
- Maintain a high-touch customer experience through prompt communication, proactive updates, and consistent follow-through.
- Conduct regular account reviews, strategic check-ins, and QBRs to understand evolving customer needs.
- Protect existing revenue while actively identifying opportunities to expand customer relationships.
Consultative Selling & Account Expansion
- Uncover opportunities to expand customers beyond individual device purchases into broader managed solutions.
- Ask strategic discovery questions to understand the operational and financial challenges behind customer requests.
- Cross-sell and upsell solutions involving mobile devices, tablets, laptops, cellular routers, accessories, connectivity, MDM/UEM, staging and kitting, lifecycle support, depot services, buyback/ITAD, logistics, and related services.
- Partner with internal sales, operations, procurement, and technical teams to develop appropriate solutions, quotes, and proposals.
- Track account growth, solution adoption, cross-sell activity, revenue, and gross-profit performance.
- Support device-refresh planning, annual budgeting discussions, and longer-term account strategy.
Customer Reactivation & Proactive Outreach
- Proactively re-engage existing customers who have become inactive or have not purchased recently.
- Research account history and develop personalized outreach strategies rather than relying on generic "checking in" messaging.
- Identify why purchasing activity has declined and uncover new business needs, initiatives, budget considerations, or operational challenges.
- Maintain consistent multi-touch outreach and follow-up until a clear next step is established.
- Create reasons to remain valuable to customers even between active purchasing cycles.
Service Delivery & Relationship Ownership
- Act as the customer's advocate and escalation owner when service or delivery issues arise.
- Coordinate cross-functionally to drive issues through resolution while maintaining proactive communication with the customer.
- Set realistic expectations and remain accountable for outcomes even when another internal department performs the work.
- Monitor service performance, order fulfillment, asset tracking, lifecycle activity, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain detailed and accurate CRM documentation, follow-up commitments, and next steps.
What We're Looking For
- Approximately 3–7+ years of experience in Account Management, Customer Success, Inside Sales, B2B relationship management, or a closely related commercial role.
- Strong preference for experience within managed mobility services, cellular/wireless solutions, telecom, mobility technology, managed IT services, device lifecycle services, or a closely related environment.
- Experience managing and growing post-sale customer relationships.
- Demonstrated success with upselling, cross-selling, account expansion, retention, and/or reactivation.
- Comfort with proactive outbound calling and outreach to existing or inactive customers.
- Ability to provide specific, measurable examples of revenue or account growth.
- Working knowledge of mobile and connected-device solutions, ideally including phones, tablets, laptops, cellular routers, connectivity, device management, deployment, and lifecycle considerations.
- Strong CRM and pipeline-management discipline; HubSpot or comparable CRM experience is preferred.
- Ability to manage a large number of contacts, simultaneous priorities, urgent customer requests, and ongoing sales opportunities without sacrificing follow-through.
What Makes Someone Successful Here
The strongest candidates combine a customer-success mindset with commercial drive. They are proactive rather than reactive, ask strong business questions, and understand that excellent customer service should ultimately create opportunities for deeper partnerships and account growth.
You may be a strong fit if you:
- Do what you say you are going to do and take ownership through resolution.
- Thrive in a fast-moving environment where customers expect timely responses.
- Know how to uncover the business problem behind a product request.
- Can turn an existing relationship into measurable incremental revenue.
- Are comfortable initiating conversations rather than waiting for customers to call.
- Build credibility with stakeholders at multiple levels of an organization.
- Remain calm and solutions-oriented during escalations.
- Keep exceptionally organized CRM notes, pipelines, tasks, and next steps.
- Can balance customer advocacy with clear revenue and growth objectives.
Success will be measured through factors including revenue and gross-profit growth, dormant-account reactivation, upsell/cross-sell conversion, customer retention/satisfaction, responsiveness, and adoption of broader managed solutions.
Compensation
The anticipated base salary range is $70,000–$80,000, with a preference toward approximately $70,000–$75,000 depending on experience, plus a commission structure of 5% on expanded and new-logo business.
The position carries a full monthly sales quota of approximately $65,000 sold.
