Spray Painter / Sander – Furniture Manufacturing

We are seeking an experienced Spray Painter / Sander to join a furniture manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for surface preparation, sanding, spray painting, staining, and finishing furniture components while maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.

Key Responsibilities

• Sand and prepare wood and furniture components for finishing.
  
• Operate orbital, palm, and other power sanding equipment.
  
• Apply paint, stains, lacquers, primers, and clear coats.
  
• Set up, operate, and maintain HVLP spray guns and related equipment.
  
• Perform sanding and touch-ups between coats.
  
• Mix and prepare paints, stains, and other finishing materials.
  
• Ensure consistent colour, coverage, texture, and finish quality.
  
• Identify and correct scratches, runs, sags, uneven coverage, and other imperfections.
  
• Inspect finished components to ensure quality standards are met.
  
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  
• Follow all production, quality, and health and safety procedures.
  

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of spray painting and sanding experience.
  
• Experience in furniture manufacturing, woodworking, cabinetry, or millwork is required.
  
• Hands-on experience with HVLP spray guns and power sanders.
  
• Knowledge of stains, paints, lacquers, primers, and clear coats.
  
• Experience with colour and stain matching is an asset.
  
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
  
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
  
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
  
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  

Working Conditions

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, wood particles, adhesives, paint, and machinery.
  
• Required PPE includes safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
  
• Full-time, on-site position.

Monday–Thursday: 7:25 AM – 4:25 PM
Friday: 7:25 AM – 1:25 PM
