CNC Milling Operator / G-Code Programmer

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC milling machines to manufacture precision components.
  
• Create, edit, and troubleshoot G-code programs for CNC machining operations.
  
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.
  
• Perform machine setups, including tooling, fixtures, offsets, and workpiece alignment.
  
• Conduct first-piece inspections and make necessary program or machine adjustments.
  
• Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and verniers.
  
• Monitor machining operations to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
  
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues.
  
• Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean and safe work area.
  
• Follow all company quality and health & safety procedures.
  

Requirements

• 2–3+ years of CNC milling experience preferred.
  
• Strong knowledge of G-code programming and editing.
  
• Experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines independently.
  
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
  
• Knowledge of machining tolerances, tooling, speeds, and feeds.
  
• Experience with 3-axis CNC milling; 4-axis or 5-axis experience is an asset.
  
• Familiarity with Fanuc, Haas, Mazak, or similar CNC controls is an asset.
  
• CAM software experience such as Mastercam, Fusion 360, or SolidWorks CAM is an asset.
  
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with tight tolerances.
  
• CSA-approved safety footwear required.
