About us
The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.
The Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) at the University of Luxembourg contributes multidisciplinary expertise in the fields of Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Life Sciences and Medicine.
Through its dual mission of teaching and research, the FSTM seeks to generate and disseminate knowledge and train new generations of responsible citizens in order to better understand, explain and advance society and the environment we live in.
The EuroHPC Virtual Training Academy (EVITA) is a European initiative building a unified and sustainable training ecosystem for High-Performance Computing (HPC) and emerging technologies. Funded by the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, EVITA brings together leading universities, research institutions, supercomputing centres and training providers across Europe. At the core of EVITA is a Competence and Qualification Framework (CQF) that connects HPC skills, modular training content, courses and personalised learning pathways. The project is also developing qualification and certification approaches, high-quality reusable training materials, and a common digital platform to make HPC training more accessible and coherent across Europe.
The University of Luxembourg contributes across several core areas of EVITA, including the CQF and Skill Tree, qualification schemes, training module development and quality assurance, and the integration of training content into the EVITA platform. FSTM also leads activities related to the long-term sustainability and external adoption of the Academy.
