We are hiring Locum Clinical Nurse Manager 1 –Theatre Department-Anaesthetic/PACU to our Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.

 Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the day-to-day clinical operations of the Anaesthetic and Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU).
  

• Provide effective clinical leadership and ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred patient care.
  

• Assess patient needs and ensure appropriate nursing care is planned, delivered, evaluated and documented.
  

• Coordinate patient flow through the anaesthetic and recovery areas, ensuring efficient and timely transfer of patients.
  

• Supervise, support and manage nursing and support staff within the department.
  

• Allocate staff and clinical resources appropriately according to patient acuity, workload and staff competencies.
  

• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, professional standards, HIQA requirements and relevant legislation.
  

• Monitor and maintain high standards of infection prevention and control, medication management and patient safety.
  

• Ensure patients are appropriately monitored and cared for throughout the post-anaesthetic recovery period.
  

• Recognise and respond promptly to patient deterioration or clinical emergencies, escalating concerns appropriately.
  

• Support the safe management of airway, pain, nausea, bleeding and other post-operative complications within the nurse's scope of practice.
  
  

Requirements

• Registered in the General Division of the NMBI Register and holding a current NMBI PIN (essential).
  

• 2–4 years of post-registration experience in an acute hospital setting (essential).
  

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in PACU/Anaesthetics (essential).
  

• At least 1 year of management experience (desirable).
  

• Relevant recognised qualification and/or clinical experience in the speciality (desirable).
  

• Completion of a recognised management training programme (desirable).
  

• Demonstrated strong clinical knowledge, professional competence and ability.
  

• Good IT skills with proficiency in relevant clinical and administrative systems.
  

• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and use initiative.
  

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage positively with patients, colleagues and staff.
  

• Highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
  

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
  

• Evidence of ongoing professional development and commitment to continuous learning.
  

• Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff at all levels across the organisation.
