Web Developer Intern

Most finance systems are built by technical teams who have never managed a chart of accounts or navigated a month end close. This disconnect leads to systems that are technically functional but practically useless for the finance professionals who rely on them. About the role
The Web Developer Intern will assist in building and maintaining the interfaces that allow finance teams to interact with their data. You will support our consulting team on a large scale project for a French client, helping to ensure that their reporting tools are intuitive and technically sound. This is a fully remote role that requires a high level of precision and a clear understanding of how technical choices impact business users. You will work on real client problems, moving away from implementation theatre and toward practical solutions that make our clients self sufficient.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain front end components using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for finance dashboards.
• Assist in the remediation of existing web tools to improve data accuracy and user experience.
• Create detailed technical documentation and administrator guides for our clients.
• Help map data dictionaries to ensure web interfaces reflect the correct finance logic.
• Test system configurations to ensure they align with the client chart of accounts.
• Build small scripts to help automate the cleaning and preparation of finance data.
• Collaborate with the consulting team to troubleshoot bugs in reporting environments.
• Update user interfaces to streamline the data entry process for finance users.

What we are looking for

• A basic understanding of web development fundamentals, including JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Familiarity with how a business organizes its financial data, such as basic accounting principles.
• Strong skills in Excel, including the ability to use logical functions to organize data.
• A logical mindset and a methodical approach to solving technical problems.
• Clear written communication skills for drafting documentation and project updates.
• The ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
• Basic knowledge of how data flows between different software systems.

Bonus points

• Basic experience with SQL for querying and managing databases.
• Exposure to data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
• Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as Oracle EPM or SAP BPC.
