RISK MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATE

JOB TITLE: RISK MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATE

ROLE PURPOSE:The Risk Management Associate will be responsible for embedding and monitoring risk management culture within VFD Group Plc.

DEPARTMENT: Risk Management

STRATEGIC TASKS

1. Assist in the designing and execution of an enterprise-wide risk management framework – including models, tools, processes, and governance structures – to detect, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks across all business lines.
2. Assist in embedding a risk-aware culture across the group by influencing policy, governance, and compliance structures.
3. Contribute to board-level reporting and corporate risk dashboards.
4. To conduct and document risk assessments for each function in the business unit to ascertain compliance with risk management policy, standard operating procedures and set guidelines.

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

1.Identify, evaluate, and document risks across the Group.

2.Maintain and update the risk register, ensuring timely escalation of high-impact risks.

3.Monitor and report risk regularly

4.Assists in the coordination of the development of mitigation and control plans and follow up on their implementation.

5.Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.

6.Execute periodic Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) and manage Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)

7.Monitor compliance with contractual and statutory risk obligations.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS (KPI)

1.Number of risks identified and mitigated.

2.Timeliness and accuracy of risk reports submitted to supervisor.

3.Number of BCP Gaps Identified and Resolved.

4.Number of Risk Awareness Sessions Conducted

Requirements

COMPETENCE REQUIREMENTS

1.Technical and analytical skills for risk assessment and analysis

2.Proficiency in risk management tools (e.g. risk registers) and knowledge of relevant policies.

3.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

4.High attention to detail with an investigative mindset.

5.Excellent communication and engagement abilities.

6.Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

SPECIFICATION/ QUALIFICATION

1.Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or related field.

2.Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Risk management, proj management.

3.Experience or familiarity with budgeting, financial reporting, or performance management systems is an advantage.

4.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and other relevant software tools.
