Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer to support commercial construction projects valued at $3 million or less.

The Project Engineer will work closely with Project Managers, superintendents, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to coordinate construction documentation, manage RFIs and submittals, monitor project schedules, and support successful project execution.

The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, commercial construction knowledge, and the ability to support multiple active projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with commercial construction projects valued at up to $3 million.
  

• Maintain and distribute construction drawings, project specifications, schedules, and documentation.
  

• Prepare, process, track, and distribute Requests for Information (RFIs).
  

• Develop and maintain project submittal schedules and logs.
  

• Coordinate shop drawings, subcontractor submittals, material approvals, and samples.
  

• Assist with subcontractor coordination and construction communication.
  

• Attend project meetings, document meeting minutes, and distribute action items.
  

• Maintain updated project drawings, specifications, and construction logs.
  

• Assist with subcontractor change order pricing and documentation.
  

• Perform quantity takeoffs and obtain material pricing for project changes.
  

• Track outstanding RFIs, submittals, and project deliverables.
  

• Assist with project scheduling and weekly construction objectives.
  

• Support punch list tracking and project closeout procedures.
  

• Collect warranties, operation manuals, and final project records.
  

• Communicate with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors.
  

• Support project quality control, cost tracking, and schedule coordination.
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in commercial construction project engineering, project coordination, or construction administration.
  

• Exposure to commercial projects valued at up to $3 million.
  

• Understanding of commercial construction drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  

• Experience managing RFIs, submittals, construction logs, and project records.
  

• Strong communication skills with project teams, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and project deadlines.
  

• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working for a commercial general contractor.
  

• Experience with commercial renovations, tenant improvements, retail, restaurant, office, or ground-up projects.
  

• Familiarity with change orders, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination.
  

• Experience with Timberline/Sage or other construction project management software.
  

• Experience supporting multiple commercial construction projects simultaneously.
