Company: A growing chemical and ethanol manufacturing company
Location: Gopalganj, Bihar
Reporting To: Director / Senior Management

1. Job Objective
To manage the complete procurement of Acetic Acid for the Ethyl Acetate manufacturing plant, ensuring uninterrupted supply, competitive pricing, optimum inventory, timely delivery and effective supplier management.

2. Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Procurement Planning: Plan Acetic Acid procurement based on production requirements, consumption patterns and inventory levels.
  
• Vendor Development: Identify, evaluate and develop reliable suppliers, manufacturers and authorized distributors.
  
• Commercial Negotiation: Negotiate prices, credit periods, payment terms, freight charges and other commercial conditions to minimize the overall landed cost.
  
• Market Intelligence: Monitor Acetic Acid market prices, supply-demand trends and availability to develop effective purchasing strategies.
  
• Purchase Order Management: Ensure timely issuance of purchase orders, supplier follow-ups and delivery as per production schedules.
  
• Inventory Management: Maintain optimum stock levels and coordinate with Production and Stores to prevent shortages or excess inventory.
  
• Logistics Coordination: Manage transportation, tanker availability and timely delivery of Acetic Acid while ensuring applicable safety requirements.
  
• Quality Coordination: Coordinate with Quality Control and Production teams to ensure materials meet approved specifications and required quality documentation is available.
  
• Cost Control: Identify cost-saving opportunities through bulk purchasing, long-term contracts, alternate sourcing and freight optimization.
  
• Contract and Payment Management: Manage supplier agreements, payment terms, invoice reconciliation and coordination with Finance.
  
• Compliance and Documentation: Ensure proper procurement records, approvals, supplier documentation and compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  
• Management Reporting: Submit periodic reports on procurement costs, market prices, inventory, pending orders, supplier performance and cost-saving initiatives.
  

3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Uninterrupted availability of Acetic Acid.
  
• Reduction in procurement and landed costs.
  
• Timely delivery and supplier performance.
  
• Optimum inventory and working capital management.
  
• Development of reliable alternative suppliers.
  
• Quality compliance and reduction in material rejection.
  
• Adherence to approved budgets and procurement policies.
  

4. Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Commerce or Supply Chain Management.
  
• MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain Management or Materials Management will be an added advantage.
  

5. Experience Requirements

• 10–15 years of relevant experience in Purchase / Procurement, preferably in the chemical or process manufacturing industry.
  
• Prior experience in Acetic Acid, industrial chemicals or raw material procurement is strongly preferred.
  
• Proven expertise in vendor development, commercial negotiation, bulk chemical logistics and cost optimization.

To ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of Acetic Acid for the Ethyl Acetate plant at Gopalganj, Bihar, while maintaining supply continuity, quality standards, optimum inventory and compliance with company policies.
