Umbrella Rate: £25.37 per hour umbrella


Summary

  • Assist in the management and administration of a new Children’s Home, ensuring it meets all regulatory standards and provides excellent care for vulnerable children and young people.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure young people receive sensitive care that meets their social, medical, psychological, educational, cultural, and wellbeing needs.
  • Empower young people to have a voice in their decisions and encourage independence.
  • Build positive relationships with families and facilitate community integration using local facilities.
  • Assist the manager in maintaining the professional competence of the staff team.
  • Manage delegated budgets effectively and monitor the proper use of finances.
  • Coordinate, attend, and chair meetings to promote inclusion and achieve care objectives.

Experience

  • Proven senior-level experience working with young people within a residential childcare environment.
  • Experience managing staff, planning/preparing reports, and undertaking assessments.
  • Experience working with a Behaviour support model of care.
  • Strong knowledge of child development, safeguarding practices, and budget monitoring.
  • Working knowledge of The Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People).
  • Relevant qualification that meets the equivalent criteria for Social Care Wales registration.

Additional Information

  • Hours per week: 37
  • Enhanced DBS required.
  • This is an Onsite role based in Cardiff.
  • We work on a biweekly payment schedule.
