Responsibilities
- Assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Nursing Home in the absence of the Home Manager, ensuring the effective operation of services.
- Ensure compliance with all Company policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and relevant legislation.
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care in accordance with best practice standards and NMBI guidelines.
- Oversee the assessment, implementation, and regular review of resident care plans to ensure individual needs are met.
- Supervise, support, and mentor nursing and care staff, fostering a positive and professional working environment.
- Manage staff rostering and resource allocation to ensure appropriate staffing levels and continuity of care.
- Monitor clinical standards, conduct audits, and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance resident outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, effectively managing incidents, risks, and corrective actions.
- Maintain effective communication with residents, families, and the multidisciplinary team, advocating for residents' rights, dignity, and preferences.
- Promote continuous professional development by supporting the learning, training, and career progression of nursing staff and newly qualified nurses.
Requirements
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Previous management or supervisory experience within a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at all organisational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Genuine interest and commitment to working with the elderly and our client group.
- Satisfactory Garda Vetting clearance.
- Experience and/or a relevant qualification in Care of the Elderly.
- Minimum of 2–3 years’ nursing experience in a Nursing Home setting in Ireland.
