Software Engineer

Required Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency with Node.js and JavaScript, particularly for backend development
  

• Strong SQL skills
  

• Experience developing and consuming REST APIs
  

• Experience implementing and working with webhooks
  

• Ability to understand and work within existing backend architectures and codebases
  

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) experience
  

• Frontend development experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  

• Experience with React
  

• Experience integrating with third-party APIs or external enterprise systems
  

• Experience working with automotive, dealership, OEM, or other complex integration environments

Engineering Environment
Our backend applications are built primarily with Node.js and JavaScript. We use Express.js as part of our backend stack, along with an internally developed MVC-style framework built around it.
On the frontend, we primarily use standard HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with React used where appropriate.

What We're Looking For
Beyond specific technologies, we are looking for an engineer who:

• Is comfortable navigating ambiguous, incomplete, or evolving specifications
  

• Can independently investigate unfamiliar systems and codebases
  

• Is comfortable working with third-party APIs whose behavior may not always be completely documented
  

• Can reason through integration problems and determine appropriate solutions with limited guidance
  

• Is able to work effectively in an environment where understanding existing behavior is sometimes as important as implementing new functionality
