Job Description:
- The Quality Control Officer / Site Safety & Health Officer (QC/SSHO) is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities comply with contract requirements, applicable codes, project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- This position oversees project quality control processes and implements the site safety program to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved plans and procedures.
- Responsibilities commonly include administration of the Quality Control Plan, Accident Prevention Plan (APP), inspections, documentation, corrective actions, and regulatory compliance.
- This person will be able to receive mileage reimbursement for the role as they will travel between the 2 Client locations.
- Some days they might be at one location 2-3 days and the rest of the week the other location.
- Some weeks they will be at one location the whole week etc.
Important to have OSHA certification or OSHA/ Safety Trainings.
- This person will be responsible for the safety checks of Client at the client site!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Quality Control
- Implement and maintain the project Quality Control Plan.
- Conduct Preparatory, Initial, and Follow-Up inspections for all Definable Features of Work (DFOW).
- Verify that materials, equipment, and workmanship conform to contract requirements and specifications.
- Maintain quality control documentation, inspection reports, deficiency logs, testing records, and as-built documentation.
- Identify and track non-conforming work and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Coordinate quality inspections and testing activities with subcontractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.
- Prepare daily QC reports and provide status updates to project management.
Safety & Health:
- Implement and enforce the project Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and Site Safety & Health Plan.
- Conduct daily jobsite safety inspections and audits.
- Lead safety orientations, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
- Develop and review Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) for project activities.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and injuries, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, site-specific requirements, and company safety policies.
- Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Stop work when unsafe conditions or practices are identified and coordinate corrective actions.
