About the role

We're recruiting Japanese speakers for a live project with our client, an AI training data company. The work is translation of general business content between English and Japanese, in both directions. It's remote and flexible: you choose when you work.

What you'll do

• Translate general business content from English into Japanese, to a standard that is accurate and reads naturally to a speaker.
  

• Translate Japanese content into English accurately and clearly. The client's team refines the final English.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• Fluent Japanese speaker.
  

• Excellent written Japanese, with the ability to produce flawless English to Japanese translation.
  

• Working-level English, good enough to translate Japanese into English to a reasonable standard.
  

• Professional experience using both Japanese and English at work.
  

• Strong attention to detail.
  

• Comfortable working with professional and business content.
  

• 
  

Nice to have

• Paid professional translation or localisation experience.
  

• QA or review experience.
  

• Familiarity with spreadsheets or structured documents.
  

• Strong knowledge of Japanese business and cultural context.

Not required

• Formal translation experience or qualifications. Bilingual professional experience is enough.
  

• Specialist knowledge. The content is general corporate, not legal, financial or technical.

Terms

• USD 36.50 per hour.
  

• Freelance contract with DevFixr, paid monthly.
  

• No minimum hours, but there is plenty of work for those who want more.
  

• Either side can end the arrangement at any time.
