SAP ABAP Developer

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivatedSAP ABAP Developerto join our SAP technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, testing, and supporting SAP applications and custom solutions using ABAP and related SAP technologies.

The role will focus on developing scalable and maintainable SAP solutions across reports, interfaces, enhancements, integrations, and custom applications. You will work closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and other technical teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience inABAP development, Object-Oriented ABAP, ALV, Dialog Programming, IDOCs, OData, ABAP CDS Views, and ABAP on HANA/AMDP. Exposure toSAP BTP, SAP CPI, and AEMis highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, implement, and maintain SAP ABAP programs and custom solutions based on business and technical requirements.

• Develop and enhanceABAP reports, ALV reports, interfaces, forms, dialog programs, and custom applications.

• Develop solutions usingObject-Oriented ABAP (OO ABAP)and SAP development best practices.

• Design, develop, and support integrations usingIDOCs, OData services, and other SAP integration technologies.

• Develop and maintainABAP CDS Viewsto support reporting, data modeling, and application development requirements.

• Develop and optimizeABAP Managed Database Procedures (AMDP)and other ABAP on HANA solutions.

• Analyze existing SAP applications and identify opportunities for performance improvement, simplification, and technical optimization.

• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, defects, and application performance problems in a timely manner.

• Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and technical validation of developed solutions.

• Work closely with SAP functional consultants and business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications and solutions.

• Participate in requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and post-production support.

• Ensure that developed solutions follow SAP development standards, coding guidelines, security requirements, and performance best practices.

• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including technical specifications, development documentation, test scenarios, and support documentation.

• Support SAP application releases, enhancements, upgrades, and deployment activities as required.

• Collaborate with cross-functional and technical teams to investigate complex issues and deliver effective solutions.

• Provide technical guidance and recommendations to improve the reliability, scalability, and maintainability of SAP applications.

• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to automate or simplify existing processes.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience inSAP ABAP development.

• Experience developingABAP Reports, ALV Reports, Dialog Programs, Interfaces, and custom applications.

• Strong knowledge ofObject-Oriented ABAP (OO ABAP).

• Experience working withSAP IDOCsand interface development.

• Experience developing and consumingOData services.

• Hands-on experience withABAP CDS Views.

• Experience withABAP on HANA, includingAMDP.

• Good understanding of SAP application architecture, development standards, debugging, and performance optimization.

• Experience with SAP development and production support processes.

• Ability to analyze technical issues and develop effective, sustainable solutions.

Preferred Skills

Experience with one or more of the following technologies will be an advantage:

• SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP)

• SAP Cloud Platform / BTP services

• SAP Cloud Integration / CPI

• Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)

• SAP integration technologies and cloud-based integration patterns

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree inInformation Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

• Relevant professional experience inSAP ABAP development and SAP application support.

• Demonstrated experience working on SAP development projects, enhancements, implementations, or production support environments.

• Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and structured development practices.

• SAP ABAP certification or relevant SAP technical training is an advantage.
