We are currently recruiting Staff Nurses to join a hospital in Galway, Ireland.
Contract TypeFixed-Term Contract
Working Hours-37.5 hours per week
The successful candidates will contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care in a supportive environment where quality, respect, compassion and person-centred care are at the heart of all services.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective and compassionate nursing care and treatments to the highest professional standards, in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, guidelines and best practice.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care using the nursing process, while maintaining accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation and records.
- Support effective discharge planning based on individual patient needs and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to promote continuity of care.
- Safely administer prescribed medications, including IV medications, blood and blood products and controlled drugs, in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Monitor patients following medication administration, recognise and report adverse reactions or medication errors promptly, and take appropriate action in line with established protocols.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control policies and best practice guidelines, working closely with the Infection Control Nurse to prevent and manage infections.
- Ensure the safe handling and appropriate disposal of clinical and medical waste in accordance with hospital policies, while maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
Requirements

Hold an RGN qualification and be currently registered, or eligible for registration, in the General Nurse Division of the NMBI Register.

Demonstrate relevant post-registration nursing experience, preferably within a surgical or acute hospital setting.

Demonstrate strong clinical skills and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centred care.

Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with patients, families and multidisciplinary colleagues.

Demonstrate professional and personal accountability for the delivery, documentation and evaluation of patient care.

Have the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while contributing to the delivery of a high-quality nursing service.

Demonstrate flexibility in working patterns, with the ability to undertake rotating day and night shifts as required.
