Job Summary

We are seeking compassionate, reliable, and professional On-Call Caregivers to provide non-medical personal care and daily living assistance to clients in their homes or other approved care settings.

The caregiver will provide coverage for scheduled caregiver absences, temporary care needs, respite care, weekends, holidays, and urgent staffing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with bathing, showering, dressing, grooming, personal hygiene and toileting.
  
• Provide feeding assistance, positioning, mobility and transfers as permitted by the care plan.
  
• Assist with safe ambulation and approved mobility equipment.
  
• Prepare simple meals according to dietary instructions.
  
• Perform client-related light housekeeping, laundry, bed linen changes, dishwashing and routine sanitation.
  
• Provide medication reminders when permitted; caregivers must not administer medication unless specifically authorized, trained and legally permitted.
  
• Provide companionship and emotional support.
  
• Accompany clients to approved appointments, shopping or community activities when permitted.
  
• Complete shift notes, care records, timesheets and incident reports.
  
• Report changes in the client's condition, behavior, mobility or well-being to the designated supervisor.
  
• Accept short-notice assignments and provide weekend, holiday, evening, overnight or emergency coverage as required.
  

Qualifications

• Minimum 18 years of age, unless otherwise permitted by applicable state requirements.
  
• Previous caregiving, personal care, home care, senior care or disability-support experience preferred.
  
• Compassionate, patient, dependable and professional.
  
• Effective communication skills.
  
• Ability to safely perform assigned caregiving duties and follow an established care plan.
  
• Reliable transportation may be required depending on the assignment.
  
• Ability to pass required background checks and employment screening.
  
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred and may be required.
  
• HHA/PCA/CNA certification may be required for certain assignments.

On-Call Availability

Assignments may include:

On-call availability does not guarantee a minimum number of hours or assignments.

State-Specific Requirements

Caregivers must meet all applicable training, certification, background-check, supervision and other requirements for the state and type of care provided. Requirements may differ between Texas, New Jersey, Illinois and New York.
