Senior Purchase Executive

1. Supplier development and alternative sourcing
   

• Identify and develop alternative suppliers for critical and regularly used materials.
  
• Evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, delivery performance, reliability, and technical capability.
  
• Ensure alternative materials and suppliers meet approved specifications and receive the required technical and quality approvals before use.
  
• Reduce dependency on single suppliers wherever practical.
  

Cost control and negotiation

• Negotiate competitive prices, payment terms, and delivery conditions.
  
• Regularly review material prices and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
  
• Maintain price comparisons and records of negotiated savings.
  
• Ensure cost reduction never compromises required quality or technical specifications.
  

Material planning and scheduled procurement

• Coordinate with Production, Planning, Stores, and Engineering to understand material requirements.
  
• Prepare and execute procurement plans aligned with the production schedule.
  
• Ensure materials are ordered sufficiently in advance to meet required delivery dates.
  
• Proactively identify shortages, long-lead items, and supply risks.
  

On-time delivery and supplier performance

• Ensure suppliers deliver the correct material in the required quantity and within the committed timeline.
  
• Monitor overdue orders and resolve delivery issues before they affect production.
  
• Review supplier performance and take corrective action for recurring delays or quality problems.
  
• Develop backup sourcing plans for critical materials.
  

Quality and specification compliance

• Ensure purchase orders clearly specify approved dimensions, grades, specifications, quantities, and quality requirements.
  
• Coordinate with Engineering and Quality before accepting any proposed deviation.
  
• Work with Quality and Stores to establish appropriate incoming inspection and supplier corrective-action processes.
  
• Prevent incorrect or nonconforming material from reaching assembly.
  

Team coordination and process control

• Guide the Junior Purchase Executive on purchase documentation, follow-ups, inventory coordination, and bill processing.
  
• Ensure purchase procedures and approval processes are consistently followed.
  
• Maintain visibility of pending orders, material shortages, supplier risks, and cost-saving opportunities.
  
• Provide regular procurement performance reports to management.
