General Accountant - Travel Industry

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented General Accountant to join a family-owned business in Al Ain. The ideal candidate should have 2–3 years of accounting experience in the UAE, preferably within the travel and tourism industry, with good knowledge of day-to-day accounting operations and financial documentation.

The candidate should be organized, trustworthy, hands-on, and able to manage accounting tasks independently while supporting the business owners and management with accurate financial information.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, receipts, payments, and expenses.
  
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial documentation.
  
• Prepare invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and other accounting documents.
  
• Reconcile bank accounts, cash transactions, and other financial records.
  
• Monitor outstanding receivables and payables and conduct necessary follow-ups.
  
• Assist with monthly financial closing and preparation of basic financial reports.
  
• Maintain proper records of expenses, income, and business transactions.
  
• Assist with budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and expense tracking.
  
• Coordinate with banks, suppliers, customers, and other relevant parties regarding accounting matters.
  
• Ensure accounting records are properly organized and supporting documents are maintained.
  
• Assist with VAT-related documentation and other UAE accounting compliance requirements.
  
• Support management with financial information, reports, and analysis when required.
  
• Handle other accounting and administrative duties related to the business as required.
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  
• 2–3 years of accounting experience in the UAE.
  
• Previous experience in the travel agency, tourism, or travel-related industry is highly preferred.
  
• Good understanding of general accounting principles and UAE accounting practices.
  
• Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
  
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounting tasks.
  
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  
• Candidates currently based in the UAE are preferred.
  
• Willingness to work in Al Ain.
