Senior Full Stack Developer

United Exports is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Senior Full Stack Developer to join our growing IT team based in Paarl. Reporting to the CIO, this role offers the opportunity to take technical ownership of internally developed applications, cloud services, and enterprise integrations that support critical business operations across a global agricultural business.

As a senior member of our Development team, you will work across the full technology stack, designing and delivering modern, scalable solutions while helping shape development standards, mentoring junior developers, and contributing to key architectural decisions.

What You'll Be Doing

Software Development

• Design, develop, and maintain full stack applications across internal systems, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
  
• Build secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions using modern development practices.
  
• Contribute to application architecture and technical design decisions.
  
• Develop and support APIs, backend services, and front-end applications.
  

Systems Integration

• Build and maintain integrations between internal systems, cloud services, and ERP platforms.
  
• Enhance and support existing applications and integrations as business requirements evolve.
  
• Ensure reliable data flow across business-critical systems.
  

DevOps & Engineering Excellence

• Own and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
  
• Drive best practices around source control, code reviews, branching strategies, and release management.
  
• Champion automated testing and software quality standards.
  
• Maintain application monitoring, logging, and technical documentation.
  

Leadership & Mentorship

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
  
• Conduct code reviews and encourage knowledge sharing across the team.
  
• Promote software engineering best practices and continuous improvement.
  

Collaboration

• Work closely with business stakeholders, analysts, project teams, and technical teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  
• Clearly communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  

Requirements

What We're Looking For

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  
• Minimum 5 years' professional software development experience, including the development and support of production web applications.
  
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  
• C# / .NET
  
• React
  
• JavaScript / TypeScript
  
• SQL
  
• Microsoft Azure
  
• Experience developing APIs, backend services, and cloud-based applications.
  
• Strong understanding of relational database design and optimisation.
  
• Proficiency with Git, including branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, and release management.
  
• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  
• Previous experience mentoring or technically guiding developers.
  

Advantageous Experience

• Node.js
  
• Azure Functions or other serverless technologies
  
• Enterprise application and ERP integrations, including NetSuite/SuiteScript
  
• Automated testing frameworks
