As the Lead Forward Deployed Engineer for North America, you will bridge technical problem-solving and software engineering by owning enterprise adoption from pre-sales architecture to deployment and go-live. In this high-autonomy role, you will lead complex customer integrations, adapt and enhance our codebase, and build the foundation for our regional FDE team. Your work will directly accelerate enterprise rollouts, safeguard platform reliability, and give our largest customers the technical confidence they need to scale.

Responsibilities

• 5+ years of software development experience with Python in web environments (Flask, Eve) or related backend frameworks (Ruby, TypeScript) with an eagerness to work in Python.
• Proven track record in a customer-facing technical leadership capacity (Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or Technical Architecture), collaborating with enterprise brands and engineering counterparts.
• Deep hands-on experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting RESTful APIs and modern integration standards (JSON-RPC, SOAP/XML, Webhooks).
• Strong understanding of cloud-native environments and developer tooling, including Git, the CLI, and microservice architectures.
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability to address operational and edge-case challenges (e.g., offline modes, data sync, latency optimization) in distributed environments.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate technical tradeoffs to both developer and C-suite audiences.
• Experience with SaaS platforms supporting frequent, continuous deployment cycles in high-growth environments.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (particularly MongoDB) and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) in a cloud setup is an asset.

Requirements

• Own the technical lifecycle of customer adoption across North America, partnering with enterprise technical counterparts from pre-sales discovery and architecture design through go-live and scale.
• Architect and implement robust code solutions and bug fixes directly within Deliverect’s core products (Commerce, Restaurant, and Dispatch), primarily utilizing Python (Flask/Eve).
• Guide cross-functional GTM and Professional Services teams through Statement of Work (SOW) drafting, scoping technical feasibility, timelines, deliverables, and resource requirements.
• Design creative and resilient integration solutions for complex edge cases (such as offline kiosk ordering and failover operations) to protect customer revenue during network disruptions.
• Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to monitor system health, define alerts, and proactively improve Commerce API performance and uptime.
• Direct and mentor a team of developers to deliver customer-tailored platform enhancements while establishing best practices for regional code quality and architecture.
• Act as the senior escalation point and in-region technical authority in North American time zones for critical incidents and complex integration challenges.
• Facilitate hands-on customer onboarding, technical discovery, and interactive architecture workshops both remotely and on-site (~25% travel).
