Digital Payments Product Director

We are conducting a confidential search for a Digital Payments Product Director to lead product strategy for a digital payments platform for an organisation based in Lagos, working hybrid. Lagos is the commercial engine of Nigeria's fast-growing payments ecosystem, and this is a director-level opportunity for a product leader who can own the roadmap across licensing categories, rails, and fraud controls.

In this role, you will own the product roadmap across payment initiation, collections, and settlement experiences, lead product strategy aligned to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) licensing categories including PSSP and PSB, and direct integration with NIBSS and the NIP instant payment rail. You will define the interoperability roadmap across banks, fintechs, and mobile money operators, and lead fraud and chargeback control product requirements in partnership with risk and compliance teams.

You will build and lead a team of product managers and designers, partner with engineering, risk, and compliance on CBN-compliant product launches, and represent product strategy to executive leadership and regulatory stakeholders. You will also own the go-to-market and adoption strategy for new payment products across retail and SME merchant segments.

Nice to Have:

• Experience building products under CBN PSSP or PSB licensing categories
• Background integrating with NIBSS or the NIP instant payment rail
• Experience with interoperability strategy across banks and mobile money operators
• Track record launching digital payments products at scale in Nigeria
• Familiarity with Nigeria's fraud and chargeback regulatory landscape
