Duration: 6–12 Months Internship (Minimum 6 months to be eligible for LOR)

About the Role:
As the Trainee – Career Consultant at IIDE, Mumbai, you will support prospective students in making informed decisions about their education and career paths in digital marketing, business, and emerging digital domains.
This internship offers hands-on exposure to career counselling, admissions, consultative sales, learner engagement, and relationship management. You will interact directly with prospective students and parents, understand their aspirations, recommend suitable IIDE programs, and support them throughout the admissions journey.
You will also work closely with the admissions and marketing teams while developing practical communication, counselling, sales, CRM, and stakeholder-management skills in a fast-paced EdTech environment.
What You'll Do:
● Student Counselling & Career Guidance:
○ Act as one of the first points of contact for prospective students exploring IIDE's programs.
○ Conduct one-on-one conversations to understand students' interests, career aspirations, learning requirements, and goals.
○ Recommend suitable IIDE programs by connecting course offerings with each student's career objectives.
○ Clearly communicate program benefits, learning outcomes, career opportunities, and the admissions process.
○ Build rapport with students and parents through professional, empathetic, and learner-focused interactions.
● Admissions & Learner Conversion:
○ Support prospective students throughout the admissions journey, from initial inquiry to enrollment.
○ Conduct timely and structured follow-ups with interested students across calls and other communication channels.
○ Assist in converting qualified inquiries into successful enrollments through consultative conversations and relationship building.
○ Maintain accurate lead records, follow-up details, and student interactions using CRM tools.
○ Learn to handle common student queries and objections confidently under the guidance of experienced team members.
● Team Collaboration & Professional Development:
○ Work closely with admissions and marketing teams to support monthly enrollment and learner engagement goals.
○ Participate actively in training sessions focused on counselling, sales, communication, objection handling, and product knowledge.
○ Seek feedback from senior team members and apply learnings to continuously improve counselling effectiveness.
○ Develop practical exposure to lead management, CRM systems, admissions funnels, and consultative sales processes.
○ Collaborate with internal teams to ensure prospective students receive a smooth and positive experience.
● Additional Duties:
○ Support initiatives aimed at improving the overall student inquiry and enrollment experience.
○ Assist with learner engagement activities, follow-up campaigns, and admissions initiatives when required.
○ Share observations and student feedback that may help improve counselling and admissions processes.
○ Take ownership of assigned leads, tasks, and responsibilities while maintaining professional communication standards.
○ Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by management, aligned with the broad scope of the position.
Requirements
Who You Are:
● Must-Have:
○ Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
○ Strong verbal and written communication skills with confidence in interacting with students and parents.
○ Genuine interest in career counselling, admissions, consultative sales, or student engagement.
○ Ability to listen actively, understand learner requirements, and communicate recommendations clearly.
○ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust quickly.
○ Comfortable working in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, and performance-driven environment.
○ A proactive attitude with a strong willingness to learn, receive feedback, and improve.
○ Ability to work from IIDE's Lower Parel office for the duration of the internship.
● Should Have:
○ Prior internship, project, or practical exposure to sales, counselling, customer service, telecalling, or student-facing roles.
○ Basic familiarity with CRM tools, lead management, or structured follow-up processes.
○ Good organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple conversations and tasks.
○ A problem-solving mindset and willingness to take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
○ Comfort working toward defined activity and enrollment goals.
● Nice to Have:
○ Prior exposure to EdTech, education counselling, admissions, or professional training organizations.
○ Interest or basic knowledge of digital marketing, business, AI, or emerging career domains.
○ Certifications, workshops, or training in sales, communication, counselling, digital marketing, or customer relationship management.
○ Previous experience interacting with customers, students, or prospects over phone calls or in person.
