Junior BI Analyst

We are looking for a Junior BI Analyst to join Gulf Associates and help our team turn complex data into actionable commercial positions. Unlike traditional consultancies that rely on static models, we focus on the ground reality of complex investments and partnership decisions. You will join us at a time when we are supporting a major Dutch logistics firm with their market positioning and partnership strategy. This is a full-time, remote position where your work will directly influence the advice we give to chief executives and sovereign entities. We value commercial judgment and clarity over theoretical reports, ensuring that every piece of data we present serves a specific decision.

What you will do

• Clean and organize datasets related to the logistics industry and counterparty performance to ensure data integrity.
• Build and maintain dashboards that track key commercial metrics for our current client engagements.
• Research market trends and competitor behaviors in the territory to help partners understand the wider environment.
• Prepare clear visualizations that explain complex data findings to non-technical audiences and senior partners.
• Identify inconsistencies in third-party reports to ensure our clients have the most accurate ground reality.
• Support the drafting of briefing notes by providing the quantitative evidence needed for specific investment cases.
• Monitor updates from regulatory bodies that might affect the commercial interests of our current clients.
• Assist senior team members in testing different scenarios for capital deployment and joint venture outcomes.

What you bring

• A university degree or equivalent foundation in a field like data science, economics, mathematics, or business.
• Basic proficiency in SQL or a similar language for querying and managing databases.
• A foundational understanding of data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Advanced skills in spreadsheet software, including the ability to organize large sets of unstructured data.
• A strong sense of commercial curiosity and a desire to understand the logic behind high-stakes deals.
• High attention to detail, specifically the ability to spot errors in datasets or logical gaps in a report.
• The ability to communicate technical findings in plain English for senior decision-makers.
• A disciplined approach to research and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
